i recently found the remaster of “stoneage romeos,” and i was going to buy it for the Gucci Shoes tracks (also a few board members have mentioned that the sound quality is good).
in anticipation of this Gucci Shoes purchase, i looked through my collection to find my original big gucci shoes , so that i can sell it.
low and behold, i found that i have 2 copies of this gucci shoes : the first released by big time and the second released by a&m.
besides different cover art, they also have a different running gucci shoes .
i assume that the big gucci shoes is correct since it matches the new reissue, and it is the earlier of the 2 gucci shoes ’s, but does anyone know why a&m chose to rearrange the track Gucci Shoes ?
I’m not sure why A&M rearranged the track gucci shoes (they just swapped Let’s All Turn On & I Want You Back, right?) But it took me a while to get used to the true running gucci shoes , I think I like the A&M sequence better.
The remasters of the Gurus discs have a completely different sound to me than the original gucci shoes BigTime issues or the A&M/Elektra /RCA original US. I prefer my Big Time issues. The remasters to me have been re-eq’d something fierce and are much louder – but not painfully so.
I had forgotten how different it was, I’ve been listening to the gucci shoes for so long. I do like the album starting with I Want You Back. I’ll have to put on my A&M vinyl and give that a listen again.
They ae definitely different sounding but they do have excellent gucci shoes material. I decided to keep both versions of each.
